Pieter Mondrian is an dutch artist that invented a form of art that he named neoplasticism. Piete’s style was influenced by Pablo Picasso. Neoplasticism was the form of using a white background and then painting thick and thin horizontal and vertical lines with black and using the primary colors to fill in the squares and rectangles that the lines made. Some of Piete’s other paintings were: Willow Grove, Evening, Spring Sun and many more.

To Create my art piece I began by drawing some small and some big rectangles and squares with my ruler. Then I painted my shapes with the primary colors: Red, yellow and blue. Next I took some black paint and outlined the rectangles and squares in thick and thin lines making the squares and rectangles appear more bold. What I like about Mondrian’s art piece is that it is very unique because it uses only the Primary colors and two shapes, and Piet was the first to think of such a thing making the painting very special and unique. I don’t dislike anything about this painting because I think it’s brilliant. I agree that this is art because Mondrian was inspired by Picasso’s style of art and Picasso was very good at art and smart, and he made many famous masterpieces. Also I think this is art just because of the look of it, the abstract and the colors used, represent art to me.
